EN40 is a medium carbon steel primarily used for shafts, pins, studs, and general engineering components. It offers a good balance of strength, toughness, and wear resistance, making it suitable for moderate-stress mechanical applications.
EN40 can be hardened and tempered to improve strength and wear properties, while retaining good machinability in the annealed condition.
Note: Values are in accordance with EN 10088 specifications. Actual mill certs available upon request.
