Alloy 5083 is one of the highest strength non‑heat‑treatable aluminium alloys.
It offers excellent corrosion resistance in seawater and industrial environments, and retains good strength even after welding, which makes it a favourite for marine and pressure vessel applications.

- QQ‑A‑200/4 – General aluminium alloy specification (sheet, plate)
- QQ‑A‑250/6 – 5083 sheet and plate
- BS N8 – UK designation for 5083 plate/sheet
