Aluminium 2024 is a high-strength, heat-treatable 2xxx series alloy widely used in aerospace and structural applications where high mechanical strength, fatigue resistance, and durability are required.
It is supplied in sheet and plate (AMS 4037, QQ‑A‑250/4, QQ‑A‑250/5), bars and extrusions (AMS 4120, AMS 4164/4165, QQ‑A‑200/3), and tube forms (AMS 4087/4088).
Its moderate corrosion resistance is typically improved by cladding or coatings, making it ideal for aircraft structures, military components, and high stress engineering applications.
